WiMAX Scalable Fixed Network

Airband Communications Launches National Indirect Channel Program

Other Topics: WiMAX Wave 2 Demonstration, WiMAX Fixed and Mobile Broadband

Airband Communications Inc.
October 8, 2007

Initiative to expand the distribution of broadband services over scalable fixed-wireless network

Dallas, TX -– Airband Communications Inc., the industry’s leading fixed-wireless company for business customers in the United States, has introduced a new national Indirect Channel Program to further expand the company’s market reach and strengthen sales channels.

“The Indirect Channel Program promises to be a catalyst for growth at Airband, and we are very excited about the opportunities we are offering potential partners,” said Zane Long, vice president indirect channel sales of Airband. “We are committed to the success of this program, our partners, and ultimately, the end-user. Our goal is to set the industry standard for high-quality fixed-wireless networks, while providing our channel partners with the tools they need to be successful. Airband will continually evaluate distribution options to further support our sales efforts.”

Airband is currently growing to new markets, and expanding its coverage in existing markets including Austin, Texas; Baltimore; Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas/Fort Worth; Houston; Los Angeles; Orange County, Calif.; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; San Antonio and San Diego.

Airband will target value-added dealers and resellers, as well as both telecom and master agents for the program. Emphasis is being placed on potential partners with WiMAX fixed-wireless and VoIP experience. The company has simplified its partnership agreement and payout process to make the program as efficient and effective as possible. Support will be provided by a dedicated team of field-based channel managers and sales engineers.

Products and services available via the channel program include:
  • Fixed Wireless Ethernet Service: provides scalable speeds between 3Mbps and 20Mbps with rapid installation that can be completed in as little as seven to 10 days. Burstable bandwidth services are also available for customers with more dynamic network requirements;

  • Hosted VoIP Services: a full range of voice features, allowing businesses greater flexibility and efficiency in managing their communication needs;

  • Fully Managed Firewall/VPN Solution: protects LAN from unauthorized access, viruses and spam. Includes VPN functionality to securely connect remote offices and users.

Airband owns and operates the industry’s leading fixed-wireless network based on WiMAX technology. The company focuses solely on businesses, and has more than 3,500 customers nationwide. A partnership with Airband provides access to a superior, economical and reliable last-mile network. Additional benefits include:

  • Faster installations than traditional wireline services, which translates to faster payments;

  • Single point of contact for improved access and support;

  • Guaranteed 100-percent network uptime.

Partners classified as “direct agents” will be compensated on a flat schedule of 15 percent on all products and services. “Master agents” will be chosen based on specific criteria and will enjoy a higher commission rate. Commission will be consistent regardless of revenue generated, as long as production requirements are met. There are no revenue tiers to qualify, however, annual revenue production requirements must be achieved to remain in the program.
