Redline and Patapsco work together to extend the reach of TDM and
frame relay services over Redline's WIMAX networks
Toronto, Canada -- Redline Communications Group Inc. (TSX and AIM: RDL),
a leading provider of WiMAX broadband wireless products, and Patapsco
Communications, a telecoms engineering company dedicated to designing
and manufacturing IP systems for data applications, today announced the
companies have completed interoperability testing between Redline's
RedMAX(TM) WiMAX products and Patapsco's IP solutions as part of the
Redline Ecosystem Verification(TM) (REV) program. |

The Patapsco solution set allows
operators to map traditional TDM-based services over a managed IP
network. The interoperability testing between the Patapsco and Redline
solutions verifies that service providers can extend the reach of
traditional service offerings via Redline's WiMAX networks to areas
which are underserved by wireline infrastructure.
"WiMAX has become the technology of choice for operators that want to
expand or enhance their networks to deliver advanced communications
services, and Redline has established itself as a leader in delivering
reliable, interoperable WiMAX solutions," said Paul Strawbridge, VP of
Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Patapsco Communications. "With our
interoperability testing with Redline products now complete, operators
have even more choice and flexibility because networks can include a
variety of synchronous services such as traditional leased lines. These
services deliver transparent end-to-end circuits, and our testing has
shown that the synchronization and clocking perform exceptionally well
with the Redline solutions."
"Our partnership with Patapsco is another example of how Redline is
working with companies across the WiMAX ecosystem to ensure carriers can
deliver the most advanced services and support the greatest number of
devices on their RedMAX network," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President,
Marketing and Business Development, Redline Communications Inc. "Our REV
program encompasses the devices, applications and core network providers
that are enabling the solutions that carriers need to operate a reliable
and profitable communications network."
Patapsco joins several WiMAX equipment, chipset and peripherals vendors
that are now taking part in Redline's REV program. The REV program was
designed to augment the testing requirements for WiMAX Forum
Certification(TM), verifying the level of connectivity and performance
that carriers can achieve between Redline's RedMAX and RedMAX 4C mobile
WiMAX products and other WiMAX devices in their network, and
accelerating the deployment of operators' interoperable networks.
The program also includes Redline's RedCONNEX and RedACCESS family
products, which are used by carriers around the world to support
high-bandwidth voice, video and data services.
The Redline Ecosystem Verification Program
The Redline Ecosystem Verification program verifies connectivity and
performance between Redline's RedMAX and RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX products
and other WiMAX devices, enabling carriers to accelerate the deployment
of interoperable networks. The program also includes Redline's RedCONNEX
and RedACCESS family, which are used by carriers around the world to
support high-bandwidth voice, video and data services. Several WiMAX
equipment companies including base station, customer premise equipment
and chip manufacturers, as well as WiMAX peripherals vendors, are now
taking part in the REV program.
