“Greenpacket’s innovative and high performance modems continue to win Operators’ confidence in more markets globally. We are seeing the returns of our strong R&D focus in WiMAX,” said Kelvin Lee, Senior General Manager, Greenpacket.

vividwireless has purchased the Company’s newly launched WiMAX Indoor Modem, also known as ‘Tower’ . This is the world’s first Wave-2 compliant 2.3GHz WiMAX Integrated Access Device (IAD) featuring omni directional antennas for best-in-class performance.

vividwireless will build and operate Australia's first 4G wireless network in Perth from March 2010. “The Tower modem cleverly combines WiMAX and WiFi in one, allowing users to share broadband connection on-premise. Its stylish design will help us increase user adoption” said CEO of vividwireless, Martin Mercer. vividwireless has plans to take the network nationwide.

Taiwan-based Vee Telecom purchased Greenpacket’s award-winning 2.5GHz WiMAX USB Modem for its 4G WiMAX trial launch in Taichung. The company aims to secure 50,000 subscribers by end 2010.

Dr. Huang, Vee Telecom President said the modem offers subscribers WiMAX on-the-go without compromising performance. “Greenpacket’s USB Modem has superior signal quality and provides a robust connection both indoors and outdoors which is what our customers expect.”

Globe Telecom, one of the largest telecommunications company in the Philippines, inked a deal with Greenpacket for the 2.5 GHz WiMAX Indoor Modem with the confidence that the modems were field-tested in one of the world’s leading 4G WiMAX network, P1 (Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd).

Greenpacket offers a full range of WiMAX Modems which include indoor, outdoor and USB modems and support the 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz frequencies. These modems have passed IOT with leading WIMAX players such as Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Huawei, GCT, Mediatek, Beceem and Sequans.

In Frost & Sullivan’s 2009 APAC WiMAX Report, APAC remained at the forefront of WiMAX innovation and forecasts 24m subscribers generating annual revenue of $6.4bn by 2014.
