New PCI card simplifies the WiMAX adoption process

Ottawa, Canada -- Polonix Corporation, a global distributor of the ENTE e!MAX series of WiMAX products, today announced general availability of the world’s first WiMAX PCI card for personal computers (PCs) that run a Microsoft Windows operating system. The cards deliver direct access to WiMAX broadband Internet/Network services.

“The addition of this PCI card to the e!MAX series removes a major barrier to entry for consumer adoption of WiMAX services,” said Damian Pustelnik, CEO, ENTE Ltd. “The e!MAX PCI card can plug-and-play with any PC running a Windows operating system, which means the ultimate promise of WiMAX, broadband for the masses, has arrived in the desktop environment.”

The e!MAX PCI card features a powerful WiMAX chipset from Wavesat, the WiMAX industry leader, and it works for both line of sight and non-line of sight communications. The card simply plugs into an open PCI slot, an antenna plugs into the card, and broadband connectivity to an e!MAX base station is achieved. The base station could be located at a service provider’s facility or in/on any building within a radius of several kilometers.

“Once again, ENTE has demonstrated its technology leadership status in the WiMAX industry,” said Jan Jakubczyk, CEO, Polonix Corp. “ENTE is developing and delivering products to market that people can actually use, today and in the future. That’s why Polonix aligned with ENTE.”

WiMAX is the most cost-effective method for rapidly providing or expanding high-speed Internet and network services within organizations, communities and private dwellings. ENTE WiMAX solutions, from Polonix, make it easy and affordable for large and small user groups to gain access to the high-speed world, at a far lower cost per user than alternative methods.
