UK Broadband selects DOVADO’s

Dubai Internet City -- DOVADO has been selected by UK Broadband Ltd.,
the UK subsidiary of Hong Kong-based operator PCCW, for the delivery of
the Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG) as part of the operator’s
wireless broadband service offering under the now brand. |

The now network operated by UK Broadband runs on the 3G/UMTS-TDD
standard. The wireless broadband service is currently available
throughout the Thames Valley and West London.
As a subscriber unit, the WRG connects to the wireless broadband network
via a slot-in PC-card modem (PCMCIA) and provides simultaneous internet
access to many users through WiFi/LAN connectivity. Additional features
such as telephony allow subscribers to use their existing analog
telephones to get the best out of next generation SIP telephony.
With the assistance of the DOVADO Gateway Manager (DGM), all of the
DOVADO gateways shall be managed by UK Broadband in order to simplify
and shorten the installation process for the subscribers.
