Wireless Signal Generation

WiPAN LVSG - IEEE 802.15.4 (2.4 GHz) LR-WPAN Signal Generation Tool/Overview

A key component of any test system is a signal source. Many areas including telecommunications, Wireless testing requires complex test signals that extend from several milliseconds to seconds in duration. A signal generation system is a key to rapid and accurate evaluation of transmitter/receiver performances. A quality characterization, validation, or manufacturing test system requires an accurate signal generator to reliably produce your test signals.

Seasolve's signal generation software WiPAN LVSG makes it easy to create signals for characterizing overall PHY layer performance of WPAN transmitter and receiver.

WIPAN LVSG FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

Supported frequency range - 2.4 GHz band
Supported Data Rate – 250 kbps
Supported Chip rate – 2000 kchip/s
Symbol rate – 62.5 ksymbol/s
O - QPSK modulation Scheme
16 ary quasy orthogonal modulation technique
Fully-coded 802.15.4 WPAN PHY frames enable FER, PER, and BER for testing receiver sensitivity
Burst framed data includes preamble and header fields
User defined, pre defined, text and PRBS data generator
Pay load data - Maximum: 114 bytes and Minimum: 1 byte
Signals contain the necessary PHY information and frame structures to test WPAN system
Half sine pulse shaping
High modulation accuracy

OVERVIEW

WiPAN LVSG is Baseband PHY software in LabVIEW that provides a configurable MAC, basic transmitter blocks such as bit to chip formation, Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (O-QPSK) modulation (16-ary) and half sine pulse shaping as per the requirements of the Standard. It allows testing DUT’s Receiver performance characteristics like Receiver sensitivity, Jamming Resistance, PER, BER.

WiPAN LVSG signal generation tool along with NI RFSG delivers a highly flexible and powerful solution to quickly and conveniently generate IEEE 802.15.4 (2.4 GHz) compliant modulated baseband and RF test signals for scientific research, consumer electronics, communications, aerospace/defense, and semiconductor test applications as well as for emerging areas such as wireless sensor networks.

WiPAN LVSG allows modeling or adding impairments like:
Channel (AWGN/Fading)
Freq Offset Addition and/or correction
I/Q Gain Imbalance
Phase Noise
Memoryless Nonlinearity
Quadrature Skew
DC offset
Power Amplifier Backoff
