STC brings true WiMAX Forum™ Certified products to businesses and residents via its nation-wide WiMAX network

Saudi Arabia -- Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, today announced Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has chosen Redline’s RedMAX WiMAX Forum™ Certified products for its nation-wide WiMAX network in Saudi Arabia. STC, the country’s national telecommunications operator, has deployed RedMAX products in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam as part of the first phase of its WiMAX network deployment.

"STC is bringing broadband communications in Saudi Arabia to a new level. Our WiMAX network will help us to deliver much-needed broadband access to IP-VPN in every city and community in the country," said Eng. Saud Bin Majid Al-Daweesh, President, Saudi Telecom Company. "With the RedMAX installation now well underway, STC is one of the first carriers to introduce WiMAX Forum Certified products and services to its customers.”

“RedMAX is already enabling service providers around the world to deliver the most advanced, reliable and cost-effective broadband access to their customers,” said Majed Sifri, President and CEO, Redline Communications Inc. “By choosing RedMAX, STC is deploying the most advanced and proven WiMAX solution. We are pleased to have been chosen as a technology provider to STC.”

RedMAX Advantages
Redline’s WiMAX products deliver the performance required to operate a full scale WiMAX network in any environment. Using TDD (time division duplexing), RedMAX ensures a high degree of spectral efficiency even in dense urban environments. Its advanced OFDM technology enables RedMAX to overcome the many line-of-sight barriers in urban areas including buildings, trees and other obstructions. With the Quality of Service (QoS) controls of the RedMAX system, operators can offer various service level agreements to their customers, enabling them to tailor their services to meet their customers’ needs.

“Redline’s broadband wireless products have been chosen by telecommunications carriers around the world,” said Majed Sifri. “Our WiMAX products have been trialed or deployed by more than 100 carriers in the last year alone, and our RedCONNEX products for the backbone of thousands of wireless networks for a range of companies including large carriers, enterprises, government organizations and other entities requiring secure reliable broadband connections.

Redline’s RedMAX™ Family
Redline’s RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions is the world’s first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified™ mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability. Redline’s carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks. Redline’s WiMAX products also include the RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I) and Outdoor Subscriber Unit (SU-O) designed for enterprise and residential services. The RedMAX Management Suite enables operators to monitor and control the network, ensuring high service availability. Redline is maintaining its WiMAX leadership with the expansion of its RedMAX family to include products for additional frequency bands, applications and standards.
