Stockholm, Sweden -- 42Networks and DOVADO FZ-LLC have launched the
Dovado WRG (Wireless Residential Gateway) in which 42Networks has
integrated its embedded VoIP module. |

The 42Networks’
integrated embedded VoIP solution allows subscriber to get IP Telephony
by connecting standard analogue phones to the WRG.
The WRG enables Internet access and telephony with a mobile broadband
PC-card. The WRG supports different mobile broadband technologies such
as 3G/HSDPA, 3G/UMTS-TDD, Flash-OFDM and iBurst. For the subscriber, the
WRG offers a WiFi Access Point interface along with a LAN port for
routed Internet access.
42Networks has also developed a remote management tool (DOVADO Gateway
Manager), which simplifies the provisioning and O&M of WRG units.

The first customer, who commercially deploys WRGs, is UK Broadband Ltd.,
a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based PCCW, operating a wireless broadband
network based on 3G/UMTS-TDD technology in United Kingdom. The
customer’s demand is to have one residential unit supporting data and
voice services in a wireless home environment offering carrier-grade
voice quality and remote management.
