LTE Training Courses

Onsite Training Courses and Scheduled Training Solutions
Wireless broadband internet access providing IP based services to mobile users is growing rapidly worldwide. State of the art systems cannot support this increasing demand for higher bit rates at reasonable cost.

3GPP Long Term Evolution is the new UMTS standard making use of latest technologies such as OFDMA based access, frequency based scheduling, MIMO and higher order modulation. LTE promises to deliver peak data rates of up to 300Mbps in the downlink and up to 75Mbps in the uplink, as well as faster response through reduced latency while keeping deployment cost and terminal complexity at a low level. Scalable OFDM technology (ranging from 1.25MHz up to 20MHz) allows a flexible spectrum allocation in existing and new 3G frequency bands.

LTE is the natural evolution of GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network technologies making 3GPP standards competitive over other cellular standards in the next decade. 3GPP is currently working on the completion of the standard until the end of 2008; extensive trials are under preparation while services are expected to start around 2010.

Learn about this significant new technology in the following courses. Click on the course titles to see the full course content, pricing and delivery dates for each course.

LTE Technical Overview
This 1-day overview course describes the motivations, timescales and goals of LTE as well as identifying the technical features of UMTS that will change to support LTE.

LTE Non-Technical Overview
This 1-day non-technical overview course aims to give delegates an appreciation of LTE technology.

LTE Fundamentals
This 3-day course gives delegates an in-depth understanding of LTE and the environment surrounding it.

MIMO and Antenna Technology for HSPA+ and LTE
This 2-day course looks at diversity in all its forms and then diversity, MIMO, beamforming and array antennas.

LTE Signalling and Protocols
This 3-day course examines the LTE protocol structure and gives focus to specific protocols.

LTE Interworking
This 2-day course gives delegates an overview of WLAN interworking and examines how it may be extensible to other technologies.

LTE Core Network
This specialised 2-day course covers the major area of LTE's evolved core network called SAE (Systems Architecture Evolution).
