5 GHz Products

EX-5i 200Mbps + 4xT1/E1 Wireless Backhaul Microwave Radio

The EX-5i wireless backhaul microwave radio from Exalt Communications is a new breed of all-indoor 5 GHz radio. The EX-5i is a 5GHz tri-band system operating in the 5.25-5.35 GHz, 5.47-5.725 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz bands, with 200Mbps user-throughput in a software-defined, carrier class system with high spectral efficiency, security, and unprecedented spectrum management flexibility.

Along with the 200Mbps of user-throughput data capacity, the EX-5i provides up to four T1/E1 interfaces to enable PBX or trunk line interconnectivity and a seamless migration path from TDM to native IP-based services.

Exalt’s breakthrough spectrum-management technology provides up to 54 non-overlapping frequency channels, with 1 MHz fine tuning capability across the three 5GHz bands. This results in as many as 415 center frequencies of operation to choose from without new hardware or system re-tuning. As an additional interference countermeasure, the EX-5i provides 8, 16, 32, and 64MHz channel bandwidth to help maximize band usability and throughput. And, ExaltSync and ExaltSync GPS provide unmatched internal or external synchronization capability for highi-density collocation and spectrum reuse.

And, to support TDM to IP service migration strategies, the EX-5i provides a smooth upgrade path to higher T1/E1 capacities and Ethernet services. All this, while providing the highest value and lowest cost per megabit-mile in the market today!

EX-5i-16 Field-upgradeable 4-16xT1/E1 + 10/100BaseT Tri-band Wireless Backhaul Microwave Radio

The EX-5i-16 wireless backhaul microwave radio from Exalt Communications is a new breed of all-indoor 5 GHz radio, specifically designed for demanding mobile backhaul applications requiring remote field-upgradeable capacity expansion.

The EX-5i-16 is the only tri-band 5GHz digital microwave radio with software expandability from 4 to 16 T1/E1 plus 100BaseT. Operating in the 5.25-5.35 GHz, 5.4-5.725 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz band, the EX-5i-16 is a carrier class system with minimal latency, high spectral efficiency, security, and unprecedented spectrum management flexibility.

The EX-5i-16 delivers maximum TDM capacity and IP functionality in one compact 1.5 RU package for the most demanding backhaul applications.

Exalt’s breakthrough spectrum-management technology provides up to 54 non-overlapping frequency channels, with 1 MHz fine tuning capability across the three 5GHz bands. This results in as many as 415 center frequencies of operation to choose from without new hardware or system re-tuning. As an additional interference countermeasure, the EX-5i-16 provides 8, 16, and 32 MHz channel bandwidths and synchronization to help maximize band usability and throughput. And, to support TDM to IP service migration strategies, the EX-5i-16 provides a smooth upgrade path to higher T1/E1 capacities and Ethernet services.

The system provides software expandability from 4 to 16 T1/E1 and a smooth upgrade path to higher capacity Ethernet services. TDM capacity may be convenienty expanded in groups of four ports via firmware option.

All this, while providing the lowest cost per megabit-mile in the market today!

EX-5i lite Expandable 2xT1/E1 +10/100BaseT Tri-band Wireless Backhaul Microwave Radio

The EX-5i lite tri-band wireless backhaul radio from Exalt offers the unparalleled carrier-class features, performance, and expandability of the EX-5i for applications requiring less than 4xT1/E1 or sub-100Mbps Ethernet/IP starting capacity.

The EX-5i lite provides the highest level of flexibility and expandability in a software-defined, carrier class system with high spectral efficiency, security, and unprecedented spectrum management flexibility. This new breed of tri-band, indoor 5 GHz radio operates in the 5.25-5.35 GHz, 5.47-5.725 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz bands and provides 2xT1/E1 +13Mbps Ethernet with unique expandability to 4xT1/E1 and 200Mbps user throughput capacity to accommodate emerging services and network expansion strategies world-wide. In addition, features such as SNMPv3 management, AES 128/256 encryption, collocation, VLAN, and spectrum analyzer make the EX-5i lite an unparalleled value.

Exalt’s breakthrough spectrum-management technology provides up to 54 non-overlapping frequency channels, with 1 MHz fine tuning capability across the three 5GHz bands. This results in as many as 415 center frequencies of operation to choose from without new hardware or system re-tuning. As an additional interference countermeasure, the EX-5i lite provides 8, 16, 32, and 64 MHz channel bandwidth to help maximize band usability and throughput. And, ExaltSync and ExaltSync GPS provide unmatched internal or external synchronization capability for high-density collocation and spectrum reuse.

The EX-5i lite supports TDM to IP service migration strategies and provides a smooth and cost-effective upgrade path to higher T1/E1 capacities and Ethernet services. All this, while providing highest value and lowest cost per megabit-mile in the market today!

EX-5i-DS3 Expandable 1xDS3 + 16xT1/E1 + 10/100BaseT Tri-band Wireless Backhaul Microwave Radio

The EX-5i-DS3 from Exalt is the only carrier-class, tri-band 5GHz DS3 system with software expandability for adding up to 16xT1/E1 and 100BaseT. The system provides native TDM and native IP in the 5.25-5.35 GHz, 5.47-5.725 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz bands with over 200Mbps user-throughput capacity, high spectral efficiency, low latency, strong security, transmission resiliency, and unprecedented spectrum management flexibility.

Exalt’s breakthrough technology provides up to 54 non-overlapping frequency channels, or up to 12 with DS3 enabled. The system provides un-paralleled software expandability for a total user capacity of 1xDS3 +16T1/E1+77Mbps Ethernet in a single system! Integrated Monitored Hot Standby (MHS) protection provides added reliability for hard to access locations. And, ExaltSync and ExaltSync GPS provide un-matched internal or external synchronization capability for highi-density collocation and spectrum reuse.

TDM capacity may be conveniently expanded in groups of four ports and/or 1xDS3 via software upgrade option. Ethernet capacity may also
be expanded independently, providing ultimate flexibility for TDM to IP migration.

Together with the Exalt Capacity Expansion kit the EX-5i-DS3 is a perfect complement to 6GHz part 101 links in need of additional DS3, nxT1, or high speed Ethernet.

The EX 5i-DS3 from Exalt is an exceptional value, with industry-leading performance, functionality and the lowest cost per megabit-mile in its class.
